Quantenna’s video distribution 802.11n Wi-Fi chipset receives Wi-Fi Alliance certification

FREMONT, USA: Quantenna Communications, Inc., a leading developer of 802.11n silicon for streaming and distributing high-definition (HD) video throughout the home, announced that the Quantenna QHS710, 802.11n 4x4 MIMO chipset with dynamic digital beamforming has achieved Wi-Fi certification highlighting Quantenna’s continued commitment to standard-based products. Quantenna customers who use the company’s Full-11n chipset in their video bridges and residential gateway products can deliver wireless video streams with proven wire-like quality anywhere in the home.

“Now that our Wi-Fi certification is in place for our next generation chipset, we expect that we will continue to enhance our customer base of this already emerging market. Consumers will be able to stream high-definition video content whenever and wherever they want, unleashing a new realm of wireless video distribution to in the home,” said Dr. Sam Heidari, Interim CEO and VP of R&D for Quantenna. “Quantenna is on the forefront of the Wi-Fi video distribution revolution that promises to transform the way millions of people distribute, share and watch HDTV in the home.”

Quantenna has developed its 4x4 MIMO technology to meet the stringent requirements of distributing HD video content anywhere in the home while providing whole-home data networking. Quantenna’s QHS710 4x4MIMO 802.11n chipset incorporates all extensions in the IEEE 802.11n standard including 4x4 MIMO, dynamic digital beamforming and wireless channel monitoring and optimizing, which enable Wi-Fi home networks to deliver wire-like quality, unmatched in the industry. Now in their fourth generation of development, Quantenna’s Full-11n chipsets are being used in service trials by more than 25 service providers and carriers worldwide.

Quantenna’s full-11n product details
Quantenna’s QHS7xx family includes the QHS715 chipset for demanding, high-bandwidth HD video entertainment applications, and the QHS710 solution, which is designed for cost-sensitive, mainstream IPTV deployments. In addition to using 4x4 MIMO and both explicit and implicit digital transmit beamforming technology to deliver superior performance, Quantenna’s unique architecture improves reliability by maximizing the signal-to-noise integrity of each spatial stream using advanced algorithms and modulation techniques.

Quantenna 4x4 MIMO technology also enhances coverage when connecting to non-4x4 MIMO clients, such as iPads or 2x2 and 3x3 MIMO clients found in laptops.
