ORLANDO, USA: With a strong presence in the professional audio and video realm as a design resource for manufacturers looking to integrate IEEE 802.1 Audio Video Bridging (AVB) technology in their products, Lab X Technologies announced its AVB Audio Platform launch for Analog Devices’ Blackfin processors.
The integration of Lab X technology brings a complete AVB firmware suite to the Blackfin VDK development environment, enabling customers to take advantage of standards-based connectivity.
“We are pleased to leverage our AVB expertise for a leading audio processor platform like Blackfin,” stated Lee Minich, president of Lab X. “The combination of our audio network connectivity with the robust architecture and signal processing capabilities of Blackfin, will enable a new level of integration and flexibility for our manufacturer clients, while broadening the market with a wide array of new AVB applications.”
“Blackfin processors have broad applications for networked audio products, and it’s clear that Lab X’s technical leadership in connectivity, pro audio knowledge and extensive AVB experience provides a solid foundation to complement Analog Devices’ Blackfin processors,” said Denis Labrecque, business development manager for pro audio products, Analog Devices. “Together with Lab X, we will deliver great solutions to our customers that provide both AVB connectivity and the ability to further process the audio signal.”
The arrangement offers site-based licenses of Lab X’s firmware suite for the Analog Devices ADSP-BF518F processor which has provisions for Ethernet MAC hardware time stamping. The technology provides manufacturers royalty-free deployment of the IEEE standard for an unlimited amount of products.
