ST named laureate in Computerworld Honors awards

INDIA: STMicroelectronics has been selected as a Laureate in the 2011 Computerworld Honors Program for its iNEMOÔ smart multi-sensor technology. Founded by International Data Group (IDG) in 1988, Computerworld Honors is the longest running global program to honor individuals and organizations that use information technology to promote positive social, economic and educational change.

The award-winning[1] iNEMO platform combines ST’s most advanced accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers, together with pressure and temperature sensors, to provide 3-axis sensing of linear, angular and magnetic motion, complemented with temperature and barometer/altitude readings.

The integration of multiple sensors with processing capabilities and dedicated software in a single device enables leaps in functionality and performance in a wide variety of applications, including Gaming, Human Machine Interface, Robotics, Portable Navigation Devices, and Patient Monitoring.

The Computerworld Honors awards were presented at the Annual Laureates Medal Ceremony & Gala Awards on June 20, 2011 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
