SSS Co. debuts state-of-the-art foundry for semicon industry, universities and manufacturers

CEDAR PARK, USA: Semiconductor Support Services Co. (SSS Co.), a global leader in refurbished semiconductor manufacturing equipment, has opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing fab which includes demo and testing capabilities at its company headquarters in Cedar Park, Texas, northwest of Austin.

SSS Co. is paving the way for companies and universities to maintain a competitive edge, generate new revenue sources and take products to market faster, more efficiently and cost effectively. The company’s new foundry is in high demand from researchers, engineers and manufacturers who are in need of SSS Co.’s million dollar-tools for testing concepts, proving product and creating critical new revenue sources for universities and companies.

“It is a leading-edge facility built by SSS Co. engineers who are some of the most highly skilled and experienced in all facets of the semiconductor industry,” said Bob Basnett, president, SSS Co. “We are one of the few places in the world where researchers and manufacturers can find available capacity to develop the world’s newest inventions or to prove concepts, using state-of-the-art 200mm equipment.”

SSS Co.’s Texas headquarters at 1809 Hur Industrial Blvd. now houses 5,000 square feet of clean room, including a class 10 clean room with PVD Deposition capability and metrology. The SSS Co. demo lab processes a wide variety of standard and experimental metals on substrates up to 200mm.

“We will save manufacturers and universities significant capital and time by allowing their engineers and researchers to test, quantify and prove concepts in our lab and take their new products to market without disrupting their current capacity,” said Stephen Smith, director of Technology, SSS Co.
