SALT LAKE CITY, USA: Fusion-io, pioneer of a new memory tier of flash-based solid-state (ioMemory) technology, announced that the Fusion ioDrive brand will be available in Dell’s PowerEdge R710, R810 and M610x server products.
“Fusion’s ioMemory technology fits very well into Dell’s best of breed approach, offering the extreme scalability and speed our customers need to stay competitive,” said Sally Stevens, vice president of Enterprise Platform Marketing at Dell. “With Dell PowerEdge server enterprise clients will be able to consolidate current operations to maximize their return on investment, as well as accommodate future growth.”
With Fusion’s ioMemory-based technologies in ioDrive and ioDrive Duo capacities, enterprise customers can accelerate the performance of data intensive applications and workloads, including scaling virtual machine deployments, driving faster financial transactions, serving up web content and accelerating database and data mining performance.
For the new line of Fusion-io drives, Dell is producing an M610x blade server with two, full-size Gen 2 PCI Express slots for the first time. This now makes it possible for a blade server to house two ioDrive Duos without modification.
“We have reached another milestone in our long-term relationship with Dell, first as an investor and now as an OEM partner,” said David Flynn, CEO of Fusion-io. “I believe our ioMemory technology has the potential to fully transform the architecture of enterprise data centers, and we look forward to working with Dell to provide its customers with an ultra-high density memory that’s accessed like storage.”
