Synopsys honors IEEE-ISTO with 10th annual Tenzing Norgay interoperability achievement award

MOUNTAIN VIEW, USA: Synopsys Inc. announced that the IEEE Industry Standards and Technology Organization (IEEE-ISTO) has been awarded Synopsys' Tenth annual Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Achievement Award for providing a platform for driving market acceptance, adoption and implementation of standardized technologies.

IEEE-ISTO has provided an operational infrastructure to the global technology community for the development, adoption and certification of industry standards.

"IEEE-ISTO is honored to be recognized as this year's recipient of the Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Award for our efforts in the electronics industry to promote interoperability through standards," said Marco Migliaro, president and CEO of IEEE-ISTO. "We deliver professional, customized infrastructure and support to technology consortia that accelerates the successful adoption of industry standards."

"IEEE-ISTO has been an instrumental partner in the ongoing success of our organization," said Joel Huloux of ST-Ericsson, chairman of MIPI Alliance. "By providing a full range of support offerings delivered at a high level of quality, IEEE-ISTO has helped MIPI create an ideal environment for efficient specification development."

"IEEE-ISTO is a trusted partner whose infrastructure and comprehensive support has enabled Power.org to effectively promulgate the adoption and use of the Power Architecture standard industry-wide," added Kaveh Massoudian, CTO of Power.org.

"IEEE-ISTO has been providing the much needed infrastructure for industry-wide standards-based collaboration among technology users and suppliers," said Rich Goldman, vice president of corporate marketing and strategic alliances at Synopsys.

"Their extensive experience in managing core logistics allows each industry group to remain focused on the technical activities. This is the necessary fabric for successful deployment of standards, leading to broad interoperable solutions.

"As an active member, Synopsys has already experienced the benefits of participation through the Liberty TAB, MIPI Alliance and Power.org programs. We are so impressed with the environment provided by IEEE-ISTO that we are expanding our activities under their umbrella with the newly announced Interconnect Modeling TAB."
