Avnet Memec and Actel launch SmartFusion SpeedWay workshop

PHOENIX, USA: Avnet Memec, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet Inc., has teamed up with Actel to announce the launch of a 1-day SpeedWay Design Workshop focusing on the capabilities of the SmartFusion intelligent mixed-signal FPGA family. The workshops are being offered in multiple locations throughout North America beginning June 15, 2010.

Attendees will be introduced to the innovative features and design flow of SmartFusion which feature an embedded ARM Cortex-M3, FPGA fabric and programmable analog blocks.

Engineers from both Avnet and Actel will present ways to integrate SmartFusion into their products using three different types of design: FPGA design, embedded design and analog design. The hands-on labs will provide attendees with an opportunity to test drive the SmartFusion design tools with the guidance of factory trained engineers.

"Our customers are looking for ways to capitalize on the full customization and intelligent integration available in the SmartFusion product," said Phil Sansone, senior vice president of Avnet Memec. "These workshops provide engineers with the technical training they need to bring true innovation to their designs -- without incurring additional design costs or slowing their time to market."

"SmartFusion devices take embedded design to a whole new level," said Rich Kapusta, Actel's vice president of marketing and business development. "With access to a complete eco-system and an intuitive design flow, designers will find a compelling platform on which they can efficiently build their next generation system."
