Wintegra, Asidua announce carrier Ethernet control stacks for WinPath

AUSTIN, USA: Wintegra, provider of world-class network processors for the Access, Wireless and Broadband markets, and Asidua, a leading supplier of Software Development Services for the telecom market, announced today the general availability of a new family of Carrier-Class Ethernet Control Plane Stacks for WinPath Architecture based Access Processors.

“Carrier Ethernet Access and Aggregation equipment is increasingly being deployed by our customers around the world, driving the demand for MEF compliant Carrier Ethernet solutions and services,” says Robert O’Dell, EVP Marketing and Sales at Wintegra.

“Asidua’s Standards Compliant Carrier Ethernet Control Stacks already ported to WinPath processors, help our customers meet their aggressive schedules and allow them to focus their efforts on value-added and differentiated features.”

Carrier Ethernet Control Plane Software Stacks are essential building blocks for delivering high performance Carrier Ethernet services in Access, Aggregation and Transport equipment. Applications range from IP DSLAMs, Mobile backhaul and PON FTTH/FTTC infrastructure.

Wintegra’s customers can now license these control stacks directly from Asidua. These Control Plane Software Stacks are provided royalty free with full access to Source Code, extensive documentation and sample applications.

Together with the MEF compliant and production ready WinPath Data Path Software, Wintegra customers can quickly and easily integrate these control stacks into their existing and new Carrier Ethernet solutions.

“Asidua and Wintegra have collaborated to facilitate Asidua’s delivery of these control stacks which are pre-integrated with Wintegra’s WinPath portfolio,” says Eddie Millsopp, Head of Asidua’s Telecoms and Device Services Division.

“Our combined offering enables equipment vendors to save money and time, allowing them to address the current market window for MEF compliant Carrier Ethernet solutions.”

Asidua’s current offering includes the following carrier Ethernet control plane stacks:

* IEEE 802.1AX Link Aggregation.
* IEEE 802.1ag Connectivity Fault Management.

Additional Control Plane stacks will be released later in the year, with support for Carrier Ethernet standards such as ITU Y.1731 Performance Monitoring and IEEE 802.3ah Link OAM.

All stacks are fully standards compliant, OS independent and production ready. Additionally, all stacks are already ported to Wintegra’s processors, enabling a wide range of highly scalable solutions.
