ST to showcase cutting-edge technologies @ Electronica/Productronica India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: STMicroelectronics will exhibit for the first time at Electronica Productronica India 2011. ST will demonstrate its range of cutting-edge technologies in microcontrollers, power, analog, RFID and memories under the theme of "ST--Keep the Innovative Edge." Among the solutions that will be highlighted at the ST booth:

Microcontrollers
ST will demonstrate its comprehensive portfolio of MCUs, including its market leading STM32 family of 32-bit Flash microcontrollers based on the ARM Cortex-M processor.
The undisputed leader in ARM Cortex-M MCUs, ST offers the Cortex-M3, -M4 and Cortex-M0, in seven different performance and feature lines with leading-edge embedded Flash and ultra-low-power technologies to meet every application need in performance, features and pricing.

Additionally, for specific applications and cost-sensitive functions, ST also offers the low-power, high-performance STM8 family of 8-bit MCUs in three ranges: STM8S, STM8L and STM8A.

Smart analog
ST offers a wide range of high-performance analog and mixed-signal products designed to provide space reduction and cost savings. ST's application-specific products, including video and dataline drivers, are the hallmarks of its innovation and quality. To deliver products meeting the rigorous demands of the automotive market, ST applies an automotive-grade policy in the manufacturing of these products.

MEMS
As the industry leader in MEMS solutions for the consumer and mobile markets, ST continues to lead the way in sensor technology development. ST's MEMS sensors have enabled motion-activated user interfaces in a number of popular consumer devices, including smart phones, tablets, personal media players, game consoles, digital still cameras and remotes. Computer manufacturers widely use the Company's accelerometers for free-fall protection in laptop hard-disk drives and car equipment makers integrate ST's MEMS in applications such as airbags and enhanced navigation systems.

Motor control
ST is a world leader in power semiconductors and offers a wide product portfolio of power devices, including IGBT's, LV/HV MOSFET's, AC switches, Ultrafast/schottky/Sic Rectifiers, Protection, Monolithic gate drivers andstepper motor driver/controllers to cater to all the major power electronics-based applications.

For variable-speed motor-control applications, requiring energy-saving, compactness, reliability & system cost in home appliances, ST has a new family of compact, high-efficiency, dual in-line intelligent power modules called small low–loss intelligent molded module (SLLIMM).

Smart power
In solar applications, ST has smart integrated PV power converters with a built-in Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm that eliminates the requirement for an external microcontroller and makes the solar solution more efficient and controlled.

The STPMxx family of metering ICs for single phase and poly-phase Energy Meters provides highly-accurate energy measurement including active energy (kWh) and other energy parameters as required by many applications including meters, smart plugs and appliances.

ST has innovative solutions for handling power in various applications like SMPS,
Lighting LED/Ballast/HID, handheld, consumer & telecom applications.

Healthcare
ST has made notable investments to make healthcare more economical and accessible globally. ST's leadership in MEMS has made it possible to make health monitoring devices portable. The body gateway is a wearable device used for measuring physiological parameters such as ECG, heart rate, and breathing rate. ST realizes the potential of the healthcare market and will continue to roll out many innovative products to improve the quality of life.

Memory
An innovative family of Dual-Interface EEPROMs provides new features and capabilities. The EEPROM memory bank can transmit information from an application either to an ISO 15693-capable NFC smartphone or to an industrial RFID reader. In addition, the family features a 32-bit password-protection mechanism.

This new type of wireless memory enables on-board energy savings and provides easy and convenient remote access to electronic product parameters.

ST's design center in Greater Noida, India, has an immense talent pool of R&D engineers and is well equipped to build product designs that further strengthen the company's portfolio to deliver the most innovative, efficient and cost effective solutions for India's fast growing and dynamic market.
