Test Advantage expands Asia operations through acquisition of Microstats

TEMPE, USA: Test Advantage, a Boston Semi Equipment Group (BSE Group) company, announced that it has acquired Philippines-based Microstats, LLC, a hardware repair center for the automated test equipment (ATE) market. The two companies will align their products, solutions and shared customer base to enhance Test Advantage’s offerings in the back end semiconductor marketplace.

“Microstats has been a partner to Test Advantage for some time now,” said Doug Elder, President and CEO of the BSE Group, parent company of Test Advantage. “Its reputation within the ATE industry for high-quality service and repair offerings, coupled with the products and services of Test Advantage, create an ideal environment for growing both companies.”

The current Microstats business in Calamba, Philippines will be integrated with the Test Advantage business. Going forward, it will focus on ATE hardware repair for Test Advantage’s customers. Frank Sumner will continue in his role as General Manager of the Philippines operations.

“This acquisition adds another element to our business model by allowing us to extend full repair and warranty services to our ATE customers,” said Colin Scholefield, Executive Vice President of the BSE Group. “We are ideally positioned to meet the growing demand for alternative ATE repair, electronics repair and field services. Further, the new location in the Philippines brings Test Advantage even closer to its rapidly growing customer base in the Asian market.”
