Mohagi selects Berkeley Design Automation AFS Nano

SANTA CLARA, USA: Berkeley Design Automation Inc., a provider of the Analog FastSPICE unified circuit verification platform, announced that Mohagi, a developer of energy-efficient analog and mixed-signal IP, has selected the company's Analog FastSPICE Nano SPICE simulator (AFS Nano) for analog and mixed-signal IP verification.

Priced at only $1,900 for a 1-year time-based license, AFS Nano is up to 10x faster than traditional SPICE, is foundry certified down to 28nm, and supports up to 5,000 element circuits.

"At Mohagi, we push the envelope on power-constrained performance of our mixed-signal IP and we need to efficiently run comprehensive regression suites to meet our cost objectives," said Harry Peterson, CEO at Mohagi. "We evaluated the price-performance of the major traditional SPICE simulators in the market and AFS Nano was the clear winner. AFS Nano delivers 50x better price-performance versus traditional SPICE when running typical regression suites on our mixed-signal IP including high performance ADCs and PLLs."

The Analog FastSPICE Platform is the industry’s only unified circuit verification platform for analog, mixed-signal, and RF design. It always delivers true SPICE accurate results, while providing 5x-20x higher performance than traditional SPICE, >10 million-element capacity, and the industry’s only comprehensive device noise analysis.

The AFS Platform is a single executable that uses advanced algorithms and numerical analysis to rapidly solve the full-circuit matrix and original device equations without any shortcuts. It includes licenses for AFS Nano SPICE simulation, AFS circuit simulation, AFS Co-Simulation, AFS Transient Noise Analysis, and AFS RF Analysis.

"We are excited that Mohagi has selected AFS Nano for verification of their high-performance mixed-signal and analog IP," said Ravi Subramanian, president and CEO of Berkeley Design Automation. "Developing energy-efficient analog and mixed-signal IP for the consumer market is a tremendous challenge. Mohagi's selection of AFS Nano further validates the strong competitive advantage and price/performance benefits the Analog FastSPICE Platform provides to leading-edge analog/mixed-signal IP designers."
