RFaxis jolts WLAN RF front-end market with RF front-end IC chips at PA prices

IRVINE, USA: RFaxis, a fabless semiconductor company focused on innovative, next-generation RF solutions for the wireless and connectivity markets, unveiled today a global high volume unit price of 20 cents for its RFX2402 RF Front-end IC (RFeIC) designed for 2.4 GHz WLAN applications.

"Our RF innovations on silicon enable a compelling cost structure that allows us to sell our best-performing, fully integrated, single-chip/single-die WLAN RFeICs at power amplifier (PA) price points," said Mike Neshat, president and CEO of RFaxis.

"In other words, for the price of a single PA component, WLAN ODMs/OEMs can now buy a 2.4 GHz WLAN RF Front-end IC chip that comes complete with a high-efficiency PA, LNA, switching/matching circuitry, and harmonic filter, all optimally matched on a single silicon die. We are very fortunate that our breakthrough innovations enable us to do our part to profitably transform the economics of our industry and deliver real value to wireless ODMs/OEMs.

Truly, no other WLAN RF front-end solution can offer quality performance at our prices. As we've mentioned before, we've standardized this quality performance and value into all of our plug-and-play RFeICs to help our customers avoid the high costs of RF engineering and integration. We will be announcing more exciting news regarding our 5.0 GHz WLAN RFeIC shortly."
