Huawei integrates LSI SP2600 StarPro media processors into next-gen networking products

BANGALORE, INDIA: LSI Corp. today announced that LSI StarPro 2600 multicore media processors have been integrated into next-generation wireless and wireline infrastructure products built by Huawei Technologies Ltd.

It is anticipated that LSI will supply a broad line of StarPro media gateway technology to Huawei for use in their universal wireless and wireline product lines.

“Huawei is engaged in markets that require high-performance, cost-sensitive solutions,” said the Vice President of Wireless Products, Huawei Technologies, Ltd. “The LSI StarPro SP2612 media processor enables Huawei to meet the demanding requirements of next-generation wireless broadband networks.”

The portfolio of award-winning LSI SP2600 processors consists of multicore, system-on-chip devices designed to optimize mobile and enterprise media processing. The family combines advanced features, high performance, scalability (to 12 DSP cores per chip) and low power consumption into a comprehensive, cost-effective media gateway platform.
