Vivante GPU core brings Android 3.0 Honeycomb support to Ingenic's JZ4770 application processor

SUNNYVALE, USA: Vivante Corp., a worldwide leader in graphics and visualization technologies for handheld and consumer entertainment applications, and Ingenic Semiconductor, a leading China-based CPU provider for mobile multimedia applications, today announced upcoming support of the latest Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) platform based on Vivante GPU technology powering the newly announced Ingenic's JZ4770 mobile applications processor.

Ingenic's JZ4770 feature-rich SoC provides an ideal balance of performance, usability, and low power by integrating a high performance Vivante OpenGL ES 2.0 3D GPU and 1GHz MIPS32 compatible XBurst CPU core. At 1GHz, the JZ4770 SoC consumes 250mW, making it an ideal solution for small-and-light, ultra-low power mobile solutions for all day computing. The combination of the highly integrated design centered on the GPU and CPU brings a new level of immersive entertainment to users for games, browsing, and multimedia.
