QLogic delivers native 10GbE iSCSI and FCoE connectivity for new HP P6500 and P6300 enterprise virtual arrays

LAS VEGAS, USA: QLogic Corp. announced that it is providing 10GbE iSCSI and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) connectivity as well as 1GbE iSCSI connectivity for the HP P6000 Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) family. Leveraging the QLogic technology behind the HP MPX200 Multifunctional Router, the HP P6000 EVA systems are the first EVA storage systems to feature embedded 10GbE connectivity, eliminating the need for external connectivity solutions.

"The built-in protocol flexibility of these new HP P6000 EVA arrays is a highly compelling feature for organizations of all sizes," said Shishir Shah, vice president and general manager, Storage Solutions Group, QLogic. "With both 1GbE and 10GbE connectivity in the P6000 EVA, customers have an option to deploy storage simultaneously in iSCSI, Fibre Channel and/or FCoE SANs."

"Inefficient and disparate storage infrastructures prevent organizations from optimizing enterprise application performance and return on investment," said Neil MacDonald, vice president, Data Center Development Unit, Storage, HP. "Integrating 10GbE and 1GbE iSCSI and FCoE connectivity directly into the new HP P6000 EVA arrays makes it easy for organizations to consolidate all types of applications into a single storage platform that delivers simplicity, versatility, consistent data protection and compliance capabilities."

QLogic's collaborative relationship with HP spans more than a decade, resulting in end-to-end networking solutions for HP's industry-leading ProLiant, BladeSystem and Integrity servers as well as storage solutions. A leading provider of 10GbE solutions for iSCSI and FCoE networks, QLogic provides proven interoperability, low cost, high performance router technology that extends the data center investment.
