Market share differences between the top two leaders in these four major chemical and material sectors are less than 3.4 percent. In three out of the four sectors, the top leaders are in different countries, so that swings in exchange rates will readily tip the scale.
European companies benefited from a week Euro and gained 0.5 percent market share in exchange rates. Japanese companies lost nearly a 0.7 percent share because of a strong Yen in 2010.
