GDA adds PowerPC 440T90 hard macro to portfolio using TSMC 90nm process technology

SAN JOSE, USA: GDA Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of configurable, reliable and production-proven Intellectual Property (IP) solutions for communication, storage and consumer markets, has announced that it is adding IBM's PowerPC 440T90 to its existing 405S and 460S products using TSMC 90nm process technology.

Customers can take advantage of this "hardened processor" that is optimized for performance, low power dissipation and optimized die size. This gives additional dimension to GDA's expertise in developing SoC's utilizing Power Architecture.

"GDA is excited to add 440T90 hard macro to our PowerPC portfolio as it will enable our customers to shorten their SOC development schedules with Power PC," said Ravi Thummarukudy, VP and General Manager of the IC and IP division at GDA. "Our Power PC offerings are complemented by a suite of peripheral IPs for easy SOC integration along with our software application IPs for the emerging LTE markets."

The 440T90 is a PowerPC 440 instantiated in TSMC 90nm CLN90G technology, and is capable of delivering 2 DMIPS/MHz. It can operate over a range of 533-800MHz, making it ideal for numerous applications in networking, communication, consumer, and IT products. The 440T90 is a proven core, thus reducing both risk and time to market.

"By offering the 440T90 hard macro, GDA provides a flexible platform and offers exceptional value to customers wanting to develop SOC designs for a variety of markets," said Tom Quan, Deputy Director, Design Services Marketing at TSMC.
