Cypress offers multiple training and information resources on PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 platform

SAN JOSE, USA: Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has recently published several videos about the new PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 programmable system-on-chip architectures. The videos, all of which are available at www.cypress.com, deliver a wide range of information about the new offerings, including details on the new PSoC 3 FirstTouch Starter Kit and on the new PSoC Creator integrated development environment (IDE).

Announcing PSoC 3 and PSoC 5
This short, introductory video gives a high-level overview of the PSoC platform, including interviews with Cypress CEO T.J. Rodgers, ARM® Director of Enterprise and Embedded Solutions, Ian Ferguson and other experts. This video can be viewed at www.cypress.com/go/psoc3and5video.

Exploring the PSoC platform
This video shows the features, functions and capabilities of the new PSoC architectures, the PSoC 3 FirstTouch Starter Kit (CY8CKIT-003), and the PSoC Creator IDE. Viewers can get an idea of the scope of projects available to them, and can see how to use the tools to get started on designs. This video can be accessed at www.cypress.com/go/psocplatformvideo.

PSoC Creator software and component re-use
This video shows how to create custom components in the PSoC Creator IDE. It enables designers to create unique components, and then save them for future use and/or to share with other engineers. Viewers are walked through an example of this capability. It can be viewed at www.cypress.com/go/creatorvideo.

PSoC development kit
This video explores the PSoC Development Kit (CY8CKIT-001) that can be used to develop and evaluate PSoC 1, PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 applications. The video shows how to use the new kit, and walks through one of the many available example designs. It can be seen at www.cypress.com/go/psocdevkitvideo.

“There’s no better way to teach engineers about our new PSoC architectures and software than short, to-the-point videos,” said Gahan Richardson, vice president of PSoC Platform products at Cypress. “These videos are a great place to start learning, and we intend to produce many more.”

In addition to these newly released videos, four on-demand training modules are available to provide engineers with in-depth training on the PSoC 3 and PSoC 5 architectures as well as the PSoC Creator software design flow.

These introductory training modules teach engineers how to take advantage of the high-precision analog, programmable digital and high performance cores and CPU subsystems through a combination of lecture and hands-on labs.

All four of these modules utilize the PSoC Development Kit and can be taken at: www.cypress.com/psoctraining.
