Achwave announces world’s simplest multi-track USB stick recorder solution

2011 NAMM Show, ANAHEIM, USA: Archwave, a leader in semiconductor and software for professional audio connectivity, has announced the industry's simplest USB Stick Recording solution as part of its flagship Bebob Software Development Kit (SDK).

Targeting OEM manufacturers of mixers and break-out boxes, the Bebob SDK is the perfect solution to enable multi-track recording to USB storage devices where computer connectivity is not always practical or available.

The Bebob SDK together with the DM1500E Audio Processor forms the industry's first complete system-on-a-chip (SoC) solution that combines both USB recording and USB audio/Firewire connectivity into a highly integrated, single-chip design. It provides OEMs with a complete platform for future PC connectivity requirements that supports both USB audio recording and streaming, as well as Firewire connectivity.

The USB Stick Recorder is ideal for a wide range of end products, including mixers, breakout boxes, and portable recorders looking to simplify multi-track recording for musicians, bands, DJs, and sound engineers during live performances or rehearsals who need advanced recording capabilities without always having to connect to a PC.

"Archwave is simplifying the recording process for consumers with a proven, complete single-chip solution that offers OEMs both a time-to-market advantage and cost-effective design," said Rolf Koch, CTO of Archwave. "This new addition to our Bebob SDK not only serves multiple applications, but enables us to offer more than just a stand-alone USB/Firewire connectivity silicon solution. We are providing a platform for the future that allows OEMs to easily and cost-effectively deliver products that can also support the evolution of audio to computer connectivity."
