Rockchip to release RK29xx mobile Internet platform at CES

LAS VEGAS, USA: Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co. Ltd (Rockchip) a leading semiconductor company in China, is releasing a new mobile Internet platform -- RK29xx series solution and terminal application products, covering tablet PC, internet TV and smart phone industries, and will support Google TV.

RK29xx will supply powerful support for Android 2.2, Google TV and further visions. Rockchip 55-nm RK29xx solution integrates powerful CPU with Rockchip's specialized 2D and 3D GPU processors to enable up to 1080p HD decoding of popular video formats on mobile Internet devices (MID), smartphones and Internet TV devices.

RK29xx is the world's first system-on-a-chip (SOC) to support decoding of the WebM VP8 video codec entirely in hardware. It also applies all digital TV standards, including ATSC-T/MH.

Rockchip will demonstrate android series terminal products at CES. These high end android terminal products powered with RK29xx will be the first shown. All kinds of MID, Internet TV, Smartphone, E-book and PMP will be available for customers to experience and operate at Rockchip's booth.
