Percello intros 32-user femtocell reference design

Mobile World Congress, RA'ANANA, ISRAEL: Percello Ltd will unveil Quito, the industry's first femtocell reference design that supports 32 users and evolved high-speed packet access (HSPA+) data rates, at Mobile World Congress.

This new reference design is based on Percello's Aquilo family of chipsets, which offers the capacity and speed required for enterprise-grade and outdoor applications. In addition to supporting 32 users, Quito will deliver data rates of 21.6 Mbps downstream and 5.76 Mbps upstream, as well as extended cell range optimized for enterprise and outdoor applications.

"The Quito platform is Percello's latest solution designed to reduce cost for enterprise-grade and outdoor femtocell production," said Shlomo Gadot, CEO of Percello. "Built to scale according to need, an operator can easily extend the platform's capacity from 16 to 32 users. We are pleased to be demonstrating our design innovation at this year's Mobile World Congress."

Quito reference design enables femtocells vendors to quickly develop and manufacture low-cost and high-performance enterprise-grade and outdoor femtocells. The Quito reference design supports all 3GPP HNB definitions, as well as 2 Km cell range and high velocities. As a result of these features, Quito-based femtocells can be cost effectively used by operators to extend their network coverage and capacity.

The Quito reference design can be seen at Percello's booth – Stand 2J42 – at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, February 15-18, 2010.
