TAIPEI, TAIWAN: Quantenna Communications Inc., a leader in ultra-reliable Wi-Fi networking for whole-home entertainment, announced its expansion into the Taiwan market with the appointment of a new country manager and world-class team located at the company’s new office in Taipei.
The Taipei office will serve as a focal point for Asia Pacific sales and Quantenna’s growing global product development and manufacturing infrastructure, as the company accelerates expansion of its worldwide operations.
The opening of Quantenna’s Taiwan office will enable the company to accelerate volume production and global delivery of its Full-11n chipsets for ultra-reliable Wi-Fi networking, including full HDTV quality with 1080p video resolution.
The company plans to expand its current staff of 60, worldwide, in the coming year, including adding significant headcount in the Asia region. To support the company’s growth initiatives in Asia, Quantenna has hired 20-year industry veteran Alister Chu as senior director for Greater China.
“Quantenna is committed to building a strong presence in Taiwan and throughout Asia, and our expansion here is just beginning,” Quantenna CEO David French said. “This location will be instrumental to our growth, development and success, as we ramp volume production of our advanced Full-11n solutions for industry-standard 802.11n, 4x4 MIMO consumer wireless networking.”
Quantenna is focused on enabling the next generation of home entertainment and data networking applications using a unique combination of 4x4 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), dynamic transmit digital beamforming technology, and wireless channel monitoring and optimization.
These industry-standard IEEE 802.11n capabilities are critical for delivering 1080p HD video content anywhere in the home, with full resolution, while providing a bridge to all previous Wi-Fi data-networking products, with complete compatibility. Quantenna’s chipsets are used in home residential gateways, set-top boxes, routers and HDTVs, which all require high bandwidth and reliability to support whole-home video streaming and networking over standard Wi-Fi networks.
“A Greater China office greatly benefits both Quantenna and our customers and development partners in Taiwan,” said Alister Chu, Quantenna’s newly appointed Senior Director for Greater China . “Increasing our presence throughout Asia Pacific will enable us to support our expanding customer base and work more closely with Taiwan ODMs.”
