SINGAPORE: As part of the ongoing effort to promote a better work-life balance for employees, GLOBALFOUNDRIES is hosting a Healthy Living Day at its Singapore locations today. More than 7,500 employees on Woodlands and Tampines campuses will have the opportunity to enjoy activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
To kick off the event, approximately 100 GLOBALFOUNDRIES employees will participate in the Heritage Relay 2011 organized by the Economic Development Board of Singapore (EDB) to celebrate EDB’s 50 years of existence. Employees will participate in a 10 kilometer run, with about 35 employees completing a run along the GLOBALFOUNDRIES and Seagate Woodlands route.
The program begins at the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Woodlands Industrial Park campus, with Tan Choon Shian, EDB deputy MD, and Raj Kumar, GM of GLOBALFOUNDRIES Singapore and Senior Vice President of the 200mm Business Unit, officially starting the run.
In addition to the relay, GLOBALFOUNDRIES will provide employees with fruits. The company’s Healthy Living Day ambassadors will hand out apples to employees arriving to work.
“GLOBALFOUNDRIES is pleased to support EDB and the Heritage Relay 2011. We are excited to use this occasion to promote a healthy living among our employees,” said Kumar. “We want our employees to understand the importance of being fit and healthy. We believe the well-being of our employees is a key factor to our long-term success as a company.”
Several of GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ fabrication facilities recently received a Singapore HEALTH Award 2010.
