Active-Semi adds new ACT451x to high power DC-DC converter family

SAN JOSE, USA: Active-Semi International has released a new member of their patent-pending DC-DC converter family, the ACT451x.

The device family is dedicated for iPad/iPhone/iPod car chargers and provides a complete high efficiency solution featuring accurate current limit, low standby power and fast dynamic response. With high voltage FET (field-effect transistor) built in, the ACT451x meets the requirement of 40V transparent input voltage surge for automotive applications. The family is appropriate for powering car media systems and for general DC-DC power conversion.

Our patented output cable compensation guarantees a 5 percent voltage regulation at the end of the cable.

The integrated high performance solution eliminates the need for discrete components and provides very accurate current limit. The patent-pending ActiveCC [Active Constant Current] technology eliminates the need for expensive, highly accurate current sense resistors, along with associated power loss. So it is ideal for high efficiency constant output current or high accuracy current limit applications.”
