SAN JOSE, USA: Fairchild Semiconductor, a leading global supplier of high performance power and mobile products, recently received the “S-Partner Certificate” from Samsung SDI, a leader in the development of new energy and display business.
This certificate recognizes companies that meet SAMSUNG SDI standards for corporate social responsibility through a well established environment quality control system.
The S-Partner accreditation system evaluates the suppliers’ social and environmental standards when selecting suppliers for long-term sustainable partners. The program monitors corporate social responsibility activities by conducting focused assessment in the areas of labor, ethics and health and safety.
“We are very pleased to receive the S-Partner Certificate from Samsung SDI, and we are working hard to anticipate customer’s needs and exceed expectations,” said Changoo Park, Fairchild’s senior vice president Korea-Japan Sales & Marketing. “All companies share in the responsibility to protect the environment, and Fairchild is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy workplace, and utilizing industry leading manufacturing practices for environmental responsibility and sustainability.”
Fairchild Semiconductor actively participates in ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and KOSHA 18001 programs, and has taken a proactive approach to compliance for RoHS (Restrictions on the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Fairchild became a member of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Climate Leaders Partners in May of 2006. Companies that are members of the Climate Leaders establish and track Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories and set goals to reduce their emissions.
