USA: The ESIA released on 10-31-10 its monthly PR summarizing September 2010's 3MMA sales numbers.
The September 2010 3MMA came in at $26.462B as stated below:
On a worldwide basis, (3MMA) semiconductor sales in September 2010 were $26.462 billion, up 2.9 percent versus the previous month. This results in an increase of 26.2 percent versus the same month in 2009 and on a YTD basis it results in an increase of 40.9 percent.
This 3MMA sales result ($26.462 billion) came in lower than last month's Cowan LRA Model's prediction of $27.110 billion for September's 3MMA sales -- down by $0.648 billion (or off by -2.4 percent).
Since YTD sales growth is quoted by the ESIA as up 40.9 percent compared to last year's (2009) Sept. YTD sales (of $159.028) implies that 2010 YTD sales (cumulative through September) came in at $224.071 billion which was lower (by 0.84 percent) than the Cowan LRA model forecasted last month (namely, $225.977 billion).
Consequently, the updated Cowan LRA Model's September 2010 sales and sales growth forecast estimates for 2010 will come in at approximately $302.699 billion and 33.8 percent, respectively. These prelimiary updated forecast estimates compare to last month's forecast estimates of $305.406 billion and 34.9 percent, respectively.
Final numbes will be generated by Mike Cowan once the WSTS publishes the "actual" September sales number, which is expected on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
