MILPITAS, USA: Sigma Designs Inc. announced that its CG3210M and CG3310M chipsets enable leading broadband equipment supplier Inango Systems to deliver high-performance broadband access solutions for Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) for as little as 10 percent of the cost of current solutions. Now, service providers can deliver advanced IP services that include IPTV, VoD, and VoIP to their customers at a lower cost.
MDUs, which include apartment buildings, hospitals and dormitories, and hospitality environments such as hotels and casinos, present special challenges for service providers. For example, a significant portion of the cost associated with providing advanced IP services to MDUs is the amount of the infrastructure required, specifically installing new cabling in hotels and MDUs.
The Inango iMMS solution uses Sigma’s HomePNA chipsets, which allow use of existing coax to provide high levels of connectivity with almost no installation effort. As a result, service providers using Inango’s products get a turnkey solution that can be used to rapidly roll out high-performance broadband services at a greatly reduced price point.
Inango’s iMMS software provides a broad solution for HomePNA management, diagnostics, and configuration alongside many advanced networking functions such as field upgrades, security, VLAN’s, QoS, and more.
“For many MDU deployments, service providers needlessly spend a lot of money on complex architectures that are completely unnecessary,” said Jonathan Masel, Inango’s CEO. “We have a better way. By leveraging Sigma’s HomePNA technology, we help service providers use existing infrastructure to reduce install times and get their services up so they can generate revenues faster and more easily. In real-world examples, customers are already recovering the cost of the equipment from monthly revenues generated by accelerating their installation time.”
Sigma’s broadband access chipsets give equipment manufacturers and integrators like Inango an affordable, flexible, easy-to-install solution for delivering advanced IP services across distributed network environments. With HomePNA technology, Sigma’s chipsets make it easy for a service provider to service an entire mid-sized MDU deployment. As with Inango, their service provider customers save enormous resources and operational expense while doing so.
“This solution demonstrates Sigma’s HomePNA solution as the most cost-effective way to quickly deploy broadband services that require multiple content streams,” said Gabi Hilevitz, vice president and general manager of Sigma Designs’ Home Connectivity Group. “Working with Inango is a great opportunity for us. The Inango management system and our connectivity solution complement each other perfectly.”
