Wi2Wi intros state-of-the-art industrial-temperature miniature GPS module

SAN JOSE, USA: Wi2Wi, Inc., a leader in wireless system-in-package (SIP), module, and subsystems for embedded applications, has introduced the W2SG0084i, a state-of-the-art industrial-temperature miniature GPS module, based on the leading-edge newly introduced and market proven CSR-SiRF Star-IV chip.

The W2SG0084i is a high sensitivity, low power, 48-channel L1 GPS receiver designed for portable applications. Its ultra-fast time-to-first-fix, internal battery back-up RAM, small form factor, and high receive sensitivity make it an ideal GPS solution for a broad spectrum of OEM products.

Powered by SiRF Star IV and in a small form factor SMD solution it provides the latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, heading & time, using the NAVSTAR GPS L1 signal. The active jammer remover eliminates the in-band jammers up to 80 dB-Hz. W2SG0084i Adaptive Micropower Controller allows hot start capability with a very small current consumption. It has a SAW filter & LNA included, with a UART host interface and single voltage rail: 3.3 V.

This module provides precision commercial-grade GPS location identification over -40C to +85C. Measuring only 11.2mm x 12mm x 2.5mm, the W2SG0084i addresses the need for a cost-effective and high-performance GPS module for major premium markets worldwide.

This product is targeted for industrial, M2M (machine-to-machine), education, government, business-class, & premium-consumer markets.
