HSINCHU, TAIWAN: MediaTek Inc., a leading fabless semiconductor company for wireless communications and digital multimedia solutions, announced that along with the CMAI association it will co-host the "India-China Sourcing Mobile Fair 2010" in New Delhi on Dec 15th and 16th. MediaTek will demonstrate its latest communication technologies and innovative smart phone, 3G and multimedia solutions.
According to a recent Gartner survey, major handset manufacturers view India as a very attractive investment because it is projected to have the most rapid growth of mobile users worldwide – 660 million mobile users in India by end of 2010.
As the exclusive event co-organizer, MediaTek will emphasize not only its strong commitment to the India market, but also its leading position accumulated by continuous efforts of delivering the best service and wireless platform solutions to local customers.
MediaTek will showcase a series of handsets based on MediaTek's latest single chip- MT6253, and a customized Android platform for India market that features many extremely popular applications including online games such as Acorn Mafia, Mini Map and Navigation.
MediaTek strives to provide highly integrated, very high performance mobile solutions with the lowest power-consumption for customers around the world. Focusing on a few key test metrics that handset users care the most, such as communication quality, power consumption and wireless reception, MediaTek invests tremendous R&D resource in its "Quality Product Program" aiming to reach world-class performance since 2006.
To further enhance the program, MediaTek has set up six industry-leading laboratories worldwide on Antenna testing. It has also established top-class SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) and HAC (Hearing Aids Compatibility) laboratories that can measure the regulation of mobile phone radiation on human health or hearing aid effect – such a strong effort to spend extensive R&D efforts and focus on high quality is quite unique in the IC design industry.
So far, more than 100 MediaTek's clients have joined the program and the test items have expanded from three to nine. More than 1,000 projects have been completed in 2010.
