DAC 2010, ANAHEIM, USA: Altos Design Automation Inc. announced that the company is expanding its corporate structure and organization to fulfill customer demand and market potential. Altos has opened an office in China, is moving to expanded headquarters space in Campbell, California and added John Ennis as Worldwide Vice President of Sales.
The new wholly-owned subsidiary in Beijing, China will be managed by Ken Tseng, Altos co-founder and CTO and will focus on R&D and support for Altos’ Asian customers. The new headquarters at the Pruneyard in Campbell doubles Altos’ Silicon Valley office space and houses R&D, direct sales, applications support as well as the company’s executive team. The new facility includes a purpose built server room that will enable Altos to expand its characterization service business.
Jim McCanny, CEO and co-founder of Altos, commented: “The company’s profitable growth over the last several years has been monumental, especially in light of the recent recession. As customers endeavor to manage both timing and power while increasing their use of complex IP, there has been a substantial increase in the amount of characterization required to model all the process corners needed for optimization and accurate electrical signoff. In addition at 28nm, customers are now adopting Statistical Static Timing Analysis (SSTA) which further increases the need for Altos’ fast, accurate and automated IP characterization solutions.”
Tseng said, “We anticipate substantial growth in Asia over the next several years, especially in China. We have established an office there to tap into the available engineering talent and to be positioned closer to our numerous customers already in Asia.”
John Ennis joins Altos as vice president of worldwide sales to manage the expanding worldwide sales network of direct sales people, sales representatives and distributors. John joins Altos from Pyxis where he was Vice President of Business Development and Sales. Prior to Pyxis, John held sales executive positions at Clearshape, Anchor, Circuit Semantics and Avant!
Ennis said: “I was attracted to Altos because of its leadership IP characterization technology and stellar worldwide customer base that includes many of the top 20 semiconductor companies. I look forward to expanding Altos worldwide support and sales network and enhancing their key customer partnerships.”
