BEVERLY, USA & BIEL, SWITZERLAND: IXYS Corp. and Clare Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of IXYS, announced the immediate availability of the IXD_604 family of 4A dual-channel low-side gate driver ICs.
The IXD_604, the first of a series of high current, low side gate driver ICs to be offered by Clare, is especially well suited for driving IXYS’ power MOSFETs and IGBTs. Each of the two outputs can source and sink 4A of peak current while producing rise and fall times of less than 10ns. The input of each driver is virtually immune to latch-up, and proprietary circuitry eliminates cross conduction and current “shoot-through”.
The IXD_604 can operate with supply voltages from 4.5V to 35V, and is specified over the minus 40 degrees Centigrade to plus 125 degrees Centigrade automotive temperature range. Low propagation delays, and fast and matched rise and fall times makes the IXD_604 ideal for high frequency and high power applications.
The IXDD604 is a dual non-inverting driver with output enables. The IXDN604 is a dual non-inverting driver, the IXDI604 is a dual inverting driver, and the IXDF604 is a dual with one inverting and one non-inverting driver.
“These drivers complement the wide selection of Power MOSFETs and IGBTs that IXYS offers. The combination of the IXYS power semiconductor and Clare’s IC design expertise led to the introduction of these rugged new generations of gate drivers which are also compatible with the ZILOG microcontrollers for digital power management. With our high side drivers and isolated gate driver technology, we offer a wide range of gate drivers, that simplify the design of power switching circuits,” commented Dr. Nathan Zommer, CEO of IXYS Corporation.
The IXD_604 family is available in a standard 8-pin DIP, an 8-lead SOIC, a thermally enhanced 8-lead SOIC with an exposed grounded metal back, and an 8-lead DFN package.
